Che cos'è l'edema?
Il termine edema indica il gonfiore che compare in una zona del corpo a causa dell'accumulo di liquidi che si verifica nello spazio libero presente tra le cellule, al di fuori dei vasi (tessuti interstiziali).

Un bendaggio elastico, quando è possibile, può aiutare a ridurre l'edema. È poi utile l'applicazione locale di antinfiammatori e antiedemigeni, che coadiuvano il riassorbimento dei liquidi. Come si cura un edema alla gamba?
Trattamenti
- applicare bendaggi compressivi sugli arti gonfi per stimolare il riassorbimento del liquido in eccesso;
- ridurre l'uso del sale nell'alimentazione;
- dormire con le gambe leggermente sollevate;
- indossare calze elastiche;
- sottoporsi a massaggi che favoriscano il drenaggio dei liquidi.
Quanto ci mette un edema a riassorbirsi?
La durata dell'edema può variare dalle 2 settimane ai 2 anni. Il tempo di guarigione dipende dalla sua tipologia e gravità.
