L'8 maggio 2019 UniCredit ha ceduto sul mercato il 17% delle azioni di FinecoBank rimanendo con solo il 18% senza più essere l'azionista di controllo. L'8 luglio successivo UniCredit ha ceduto anche la quota residua, di conseguenza FinecoBank non è più una società del Gruppo UniCredit, diventando così indipendente.
