La sindrome di Stevens-Johnson è una malattia rara (l'incidenza è inferiore a 1-5/1.000.000 annuo) piuttosto grave. È caratterizzata da eruzione cutanea di colore rosso-viola, vesciche e lesioni sulla pelle e sulle mucose del corpo (inclusi occhi, bocca, vagina e ano) e conseguente desquamazione cutanea.
