Il Metotrexate è utilizzato per trattare alcuni tipi di tumore al seno, della pelle, della testa e del collo o del polmone. Trova inoltre impiego nel trattamento di forme gravi di psoriasi e dell'artrite reumatoide. In genere viene utilizzato quando altri farmaci non hanno permesso di ottenere i risultati sperati.
